With only three entries still undefeated after the intense elimination last Tuesday, tonight’s finals is still a wide open competition and is expected to go down the wire that will keep the aficionados at the edge of their seats up to the last fight.
Scoring 3 wins out of 3 fights in the preliminaries are Bong Pineda’s Rambulan-2 P40M Grand Prize-I; Luding Boongaling’s Big Event sa LDB Oct. 3 6-Stag I and Eric dela Rosa’s Sta. Monica Stagfest, while Romir Bert of Danny Espinosa & Ding Santos have two wins with five fights to go.
Recent Gerry Ramos’ derby solo champion Pao Malvar with his Sunhaven Paniqui entry (combined with Bebot Roxas) logged 2 wins and a draw, duplicated by Heptagon of David Ong
Hoping to spoil the leaders’ bid are 2-1 win-loss lsaters Red Cobra of reigning Bakbakan champion Engr. Sonnie Magtibay, Chocolate Farm of Totoy Haruta, Ocean Flyers of Mario Gujelde & Co., Kumpadres Mendipos 69 of Joel Aniel & Ding Bautista, V-Tex of Virgilo Lacson, Showdown ASG of Danny Ty, Asisan Sniper of Mon Arcenas, Big Event sa LDB Oct. 3 6-Stag III of Luding Boongaling, Jade Resort II of Arman Santos, Navigator sa SJC 5-Stag Oct. 18 of Jose Panganiban, LDB 6-Stag Nov. 7 of Boy Bata & Boy Lechon, Chaetoria/Monty of Edwin Monton/Alex de Guzman and Victoria I of Alex de Guzman & Boy Lechon.
Meanwhile, 36 entries have confirmed their participation in the October 12 Stagberfest one-day 5-Stag Derby hosted by Lando Luong with a guaranteed cash prize of P400,000 for an entry fee of P11,000 and a minimum bet requirement of P5,500.
