All Set for RGBA’s 8M Bakbakan Clean-Up Derby at Texas Cockpit
Fresh from winning their first-ever Bakbakan association trophy courtesy of Engr. Ralph Daigo, Dr. Ronnie Magbalon & Gerry Garovillas thru their GRND Richelle entry, the mighty Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association is all set to stage their 2010 Bakbakan 8-Stag Clean-Up Derby with the 4-stag eliminations set on Tuesday, December 14 at Texas Cockpit in Sumulong Highway, Mayamot, Antipolo City.
With a guaranteed cash prize of P8 million, entry fee is pegged at P8,000. Submission of weights and wingband numbers is set from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. tomorrow, December 13.
Non-RGBA breeders are also welcome to join and they may submit their Bakbakan-banded stags’ weights thru RGBA President Joey Sy (09173271584).
No less than 50 entries have already confirmed their participation which assures a 100-fight program that will begin early at eleven in the morning.
The 4-stag finals take center stage at Antipolo Cockpit on Decmber 17 which will be a simultaneous national championship for all the 31 member-associations under the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders.
MASBATEÑO TANDEM WINS 1ST BAKBAKAN CROWN FOR RGBA Ironically a tandem of Masbateños with their rooster farm situated in Antipolo City, finally gives the mighty Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association their first-ever Bakbakan championship by capturing the 3,528-entry 35M 2010 Bakbakan 10-Stag National Derby hosted by the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, The grand finals was held at the Araneta Coliseum last Saturday – December 4. After closing just a half-point shy last year to bring home a Bakbakan trophy for the RGBA when they scored 9 points each in their two entries for a total of 18 wins and 2 losses, Masbateños Engr. Ralph Daigo & Dr. Ronnie Magbalon with partner Gerry Garovillas made sure they bring home the bacon this year by scoring a dizzying 9 win & 1 draw in its first entry Grand Richelle-1 and 10 perfect wins on its other entry Grand Richelle-2, thereby posting a total of 19 wins & 1 draw out of 20 matches to earn a share of the title with Quezon province chief executive Gov. Jayjay Suarez (Bondoc Peninsula). Rey Briones…another Masbateño finished with 9 wins and 1 loss. Grand Richelle, like last year, again fielded an all-bulik line-up out of breeding stocks from Gengen Arayata of Cavite who won the Bakbakan in 2007 with the buliks that were originally acquired from the late Cong. Danilo Lagbas of Cagayan de Oro. The bulik of Grand Richelle which kept the crowd shaking their heads in disbelief are so good that they might end up also winning the 40M Rambulan Derby wherein the champion triumvirate’s two other entries have yet to lose a fight with 6 perfect points apiece going into the finals next week. RGBA which contributed more than 200 entries to this year’s Bakbakan made their presence felt with a bang with 12 entries (six 6-pointers and six with 5.5 points) entering the grand finals.

Rotary District 3800 Golf Tournament Set at Valley Golf on Tuesday
The Rotary International District 3800 Golf Federation will hold its First Founders Cup at the challenging Valley Golf & Country Club - South Course on Tuesday, November 23 with the shotgun tee off set at 7:30 in the morning.
A tribute to its founding chairman, Past District Governor Teodorico “Teddy” Zamora the golf tourney will be participated in by Rotarian golfers and District 3800 guests.
“All players must bring their handicap certificates”, District Golf Chairman Frix Africa announced.
With the tournament fee set at P2,000, valuable items will be raffled off to the participants who will also be treated to a sumptuous meal coupled with roasted calf and yellow fin tuna donated by incumbent Governor Jun Farcon.
“This will serve as the second leg of our 8-legged circuit golf tournament. The Pasig Zone led by the Rotary Club of Pasig under their President Bert Blancaflor is the defending team champion and all the other teams have prepared hard to finally wrestle the crown”, Farcon commented.
It should be noted that the Pasig Group has continually excelled and won the Team Champion of the Year title over the past three years under the stewardship of its Team Captain SAG Conrad Cuesta.

Let them know that Pacquiao grew up without father; that only his mother Aling Dionisia who raised Manny and five other siblings; that Manny and his family was so poor before that there are days when they were only were to eat one meal; tell them that Manny started fighting at the age of 12 just to earn some cash so he can buy rice; that Manny had ambition and he gave and did everything to realize it; that there were times when he suffered defeats but that he stood up and fought again.
Don’t forget to tell them that they should be proud for being a Filipino because Manny Pacquiao is a Filipino, but most of all tell them that Manny has a big faith in God and that Manny said. “Don’t tell God that you have a big problem, but instead, tell your problem that you have a big God”.

The first thing that my son asked after scrutinizing my Pacquiao-Cotto Araneta Coliseum tickets was “Papa, why is it that the Patron ticket is cheaper that the Upper A section?”.
I smiled because he had a point. Probably you are wandering too.
Anyway, the reason is, because due to the immense size of the screens, it will be hard for anyone to watch if he is too close. Imagine a 30-foot screen in front of you. Once you’re placed so near the huge screen, you’ll probably be bothered with a painful stiff neck after the fight. Pray that it will not go the distance.

More than 100 exciting matches await derby fans today at the PasigSquareGarden as members of the the Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association collides with visiting cockers from Batangas, Bulacan, Laguna and Cavite in.
Set tonight is the RGBA eliminations for the NFGB 8-Bullstag “Bullang-Bullang National Derby of the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, wherein a whopping P6 million guaranteed cash prize is at stake.
“We hope to send as many finalists as possible to get a better chance of ending SGBA’s domination of Bullang-bullang”, RGBA President Joey Sy stated. The 2007 & 2008 Bullang-bullang crown were both won by Thunderbird stars Tol & Lino Mariano of Tacurong City under the banner of the Socsksargen Gamefowl Breeders Association.
Three 21” color tv and two karaoke sytems will be raffled off to the paying patrons.

The Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association heats up some more the already steaming bullstag derby season as RGBA members get to decide among themselves who will be representing them in this year’s 2009 NFGB 8-Bullstag “Bullang-Bullang National Derby by the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, wherein whopping P6 million guaranteed cash prize is at stake.
RGBA is the fastest-growing rooster-raisers group in the country with 280 members.
The RGBA 4-Bullstag qualifying event takes center stage at the Pasig Square Garden on Thursday, April 23 with the entry fee and minimum bet pegged at P11,000 and P5,500, respectively.
As RGBA’s expression of gratitude to the afinonados, three 21” color tv and two karaoke sytems will be raffled off to the paying patrons.
During the eliminations all NFGB-affiliated association’s bands are accepted, however only NFGB Bakbakan bands are allowed in the finals set at the Araneta Coliseum on May 7.

With a heavy heart, Bantay-Sabong sadly informs everyone the passing of a true lover of sabong and a great friend - Donato Clemente.
He was a very active founding member of the United Backyard Breeders Association (UBBA) and was one of four individuals who spearheaded the putting up of the Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association.
He left behind his wife, Evelyn and three daughters who express their whole-hearted thanks to all those who have helped them in the most trying times of their lives, especially the cockers who have gone out of their way to extend a helping hand with special thanks to Charlie Cruz and Joey Sy.
Donat's remains lie in state at their residence in Bgy. Bilibiran, Binangonan, Rizal. Interment details will be announced later, as the family is still waiting for a brother who will be coming home from America.
I enjoined everyone to pray for the eternal repose of his soul.

Ang ika-1 hangang ika-6 ng hapon na programa ay kapapalooban ng isang gamefowl management seminar “From Shell To Pit” tampok si Dr.John Paul Tolentino na magbibigay-kaalaman sa pag-aalga ng sisiw at ang iginagalang na cockfighting guru na si Dr. Teddy Tanchangco ng TJT Cocking Academy na magtuturo ng “cockerel to pit care” – handog ng Thunderbird Power Feeds – tagagawa Thunderbird Platinum at Thunderbird Baby Stag Booster.
Isa sa mga batang kasapi ng National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, ipinagmamaliaki ng RGBA na sa 138 members na nai-band ng NFGB para sa nakaraang 2008 Bakbakan 10-Stag National Derby, 116 ang lumahok na naglagay sa RGBA bilang ika-anim sa 29 na samahan na nasa ilalim ng NFGB sa pinakamataas na patisipasyon. Ilan sa mga nagwagayway ng bandila ng RGBA ay sina 9-pointers sina Robert Ty, Ferdie Bagos & Jose Valdez Andres (R&B JVA) of VM Emil Condez & Ramon Talavera (St. Jerome R T-3) at Dennis Buison (JMB Farm), gayuindin ang 8.5-point iskor nina Gen. Reynaldo Acop & Ponyet Yap (RMA CP Yap).
Pararangalan sa nasabing pagtitipon ang RGBA 2009 Breeder of the Year na si Ljay Sumulong (TGRZ Stanley SSF) kasama si Tony Cote at Col. Sonny del Rosario. Tatanggap din ng pagkilala ang Stag Fighter of the Year na si Dr. Nelson Tee (Sabong Sports Bosne) na guamamit ng mga manok mula kina Joey Sy, Doc JBT, Doc Ronnie Magbalon of Masbate at Dupher Villalon.
Pinakatampok ang pagsalubong sa 62 bagong kasapi ng RGBA na pinangungunahan nina Andy Abundo – General Manager ng Cainta Coliseum, Eric dela Rosa –operator ng Pasig Square Garden, Arman Santos, Ferdie Ducepec (Lucky Strike), Michael Anthony Sollestre – bagong UGBA champion at ang Thunderbird star na si Dr. Boy “Chikababe” Tuazon. Ang inducting officer ay si Gob. Junjun Ynares ng Rizal.

Members of the strong Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association converge at the Riverbend Hotel in Riverbanks Center, Marikina City today, Saturday February 21, for their annual general assembly as the Joey Sy-led group celebrates another banner year being the fastest growing rooster-raisers association in the country.
The 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. program includes a gamefowl management “From Shell To Pit seminar featuring Purina’s John Paul Tolentino to talk about chicks nutrition and respected cockfighting guru Dr. Teddy Tanchangco of the TJT Cocking Academy lecture on “cockerel to pit care” –courtesy of Thunderbird Power Feeds – makers of Thunderbird Platinum and Thunderbird Baby Stag Booster.
A young member of the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders, RGBA is proud that out of their 138 members banded by NFGB for the recently concluded 2009 Bakbakan 10-Stag National Derby, 116 actually saw action, thereby ranking RGBA 6th among the 29 NFGB Affiliated associations in terms of participation. Among their top finishers were 9-pointers R&B JVA of Robert Ty, Ferdie Bagos & Jose Valdez Andres, St. Jerome R T-3 of VM Emil Condez & Ramon Talavera and JMB Farm of Dennis Buison. Also commendable is the 8.5-point record posted by RMA CP Yap of Gen. Reynaldo Acop & Ponyet Yap.
