The second elimination round for the ongoing RGBA 2^nd Leg 6-Stag Derby takes center stage today at the Antipolo Cockpit with 50 entries vying to join the opening day leaders in an exciting 75-fight program set to kick-off at 3:00 p.m.

Hosted by the Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association, up for grabs is P900,000 cash prize for an entry fee of P6,600. Sponsors are Thunderbird Enertone – the first ready-mixed maintenance formula and Romoxtyl – tatayo ang manok mo.

Last Thursday opener produced eight unscratched entries with three wins out of three matches, composed of DNC (Dexter & Christopher Tiu), Sierra Madre Warrioes (Gen. Zubia), FRJ Mulanay Nov. 22 PSG (Carlos Borja) , B & O Nov. 11 1-Stag Derby Dec. 27 (Manolito Abo), MRT King Fireman (Pido Jarenci & Ruben Tan), Jopete (Joseph & Peter/Joey Sy), Edbu (Ed Bulaong) and reigining Bakbakan champion GRND Richelle (Engr. Ralph Daigo & Dr. Ronnie Magbalon).

Oct. 10 at Texas Cockpit Arena, RGBA fans will be treated to a piggyback derby which is a combination of the finals among those with scores of 0, 0.5, 1 & 1.5 points from the Pasig Square Garden and Antipolo Cockpit elims, to be joined by new entries and re-entries who will try to secure a berth for the grand finals on Oct. 13 at the Araneta Coliseum where those with scores of 2, 2.5 and 3 points will compete, including those vying for consolation prizes from tonight’s event.

The 3^rd Leg is a 5-stag scuffle (2-stag elims/3-stag finals) with the eliminations set on Oct. 17 at the Araneta Coliseum and the finals at the Texas Cockpit Arena on Oct. 20 with a P1 million cash prize for an entry fee of P11,000.

Rizal Gamefowl Breeders Association, in cooperation with Thunderbird Enertone – the first ready-mixed maintenance formula, goes record-breaking again as the 2011 RGBA Stag Derby Series opens with a bang at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, September 14 when the first of the three-phase epic war begins with the 1^st Leg 7-Stag Derby (3-stag elims/4-stag finals) with a cash prize of P1.5 million.

No less than 150 matches are lined up to provide thrill and excitement to an expected full-house crowd, with a parade of Philippine cockfighting’s finest gamefowl breeders that include defending Bakbakan champion Engr. Ralph Daigo & Dr. Ronnie Magbalon; reigning World Slasher champ Rey Briones of Thunderbird Sabongnation, Ferdie Ducepec, Pros Antonio, Ljay Sumulong and consistent winner lady cocker Osang dela Cruz among others.

The second third and fourth elimination are set on Sept. 16 at the Antipolo Col.; Sept. 19 at the Texas Cockpit Arena and on Sept. 21 at the Pasig Square Garden. All entries with a score of 0, 0.5 or 1 point from the eliminations will fight their finals on Sept. 24 at Pasig Square Garden. Entries with 1.5 points from all eliminations and all other with 2 points from Texas, Pasig & Antipolo collide on Sept. 26 at the Texas Cockpit Arena. The grand finals between entries with 2.5 or 3 points from Araneta, Texas, Pasig & Antipolo elims; and entries with 2 pts. from Araneta elims will slug it out at the Big Dome on Sept. 28.

Ang 2011 BGT CUP 6-stag derby series ay gaganapin mula Setyembre 17 hanggang Nobyembre 26 sa pitong sabungan sa Leyte at Samar handog ni Bernie G. Tacoy at ng BGT Promotions sa pagtataguyod ng Thunderbird Power Feeds at pakikipagtulungan ni Lando Luzong.

Nagsimula noong isang taon kung saan mahigit sa 200 breeder ang lumahok, amg 2001 BGT CUP naman ay inaasahan na magiging mas malaki at mas magaling lalo na sa nakatayang P1,000,000 para sa entry fee na P6,600. Ang minimum bet ay P3,300, samantalang ang maximum even bet ay P11,000.

Karagdagan premyo ay ang pagrarapol ng 10 BGT Game Farm pullets sa bawat araw ng derby. Ang Breeder of the Year ay tatanggap ng P30,000 cash bonus; P10,000-halaga ng Thunderbird products; BGT Ormoc gold Trio at kakasamang bibiyahe para sa darating 2013 Thunderbird Challenge.

Remains of Thunderbird Sabongnation star, multi-awarded gamefowl breeder Renato “Otic” Geroso who succumbed to a massive heart attack last Tuesday, June 28 at the age of 72, will buried today at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Bacolod City.

A native of Kabankalan City, Otic stands 6 feet and 2 inches and was a competitve basketball players in his younger days.

His career as a master gamefowl breeder took a turn for good when he was tapped as farm manager of the late Batchoy Alunan – originator of the Batchoy Lemons.
Geroso played a major role in the gamefowl industry of Bacolod City and Negros being an organizer or board member of various local associations, among which as President of GFBAN( Gamefowl Breeders Association of Negros). He also managed Negros Coliseum for several years.

A perennial derby champion, among Otic’s victories are the : 1989 International Derby in Bacolod City; ; 1993 10-Cock Roligon Invitational Derby; 1997 7-Stag GFBAN double champion 14 wins; 1998 Breeder of the Year GFBAN; 2001 Solo Champion Balbina Cup and 2005 Dauin Inaugural Chinese Derby; 2006 Breeder of the Year - Balbina.

Otic was best known for his Lemon Greys or Mambucal Greys, but he also produced winning strains of Johnny Jumper Kelso, Billy Rubble Hatch, Col. Givens Hatch, Lieper Hatch and Roundhead.
