LEGENDARY GAMEFOWL BREEDER OTIC GEROSO

Remains of Thunderbird Sabongnation star, multi-awarded gamefowl breeder Renato “Otic” Geroso who succumbed to a massive heart attack last Tuesday, June 28 at the age of 72, will buried today at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Bacolod City.
A native of Kabankalan City, Otic stands 6 feet and 2 inches and was a competitve basketball players in his younger days.
His career as a master gamefowl breeder took a turn for good when he was tapped as farm manager of the late Batchoy Alunan – originator of the Batchoy Lemons.
Geroso played a major role in the gamefowl industry of Bacolod City and Negros being an organizer or board member of various local associations, among which as President of GFBAN( Gamefowl Breeders Association of Negros). He also managed Negros Coliseum for several years.
A perennial derby champion, among Otic’s victories are the : 1989 International Derby in Bacolod City; ; 1993 10-Cock Roligon Invitational Derby; 1997 7-Stag GFBAN double champion 14 wins; 1998 Breeder of the Year GFBAN; 2001 Solo Champion Balbina Cup and 2005 Dauin Inaugural Chinese Derby; 2006 Breeder of the Year - Balbina.
Otic was best known for his Lemon Greys or Mambucal Greys, but he also produced winning strains of Johnny Jumper Kelso, Billy Rubble Hatch, Col. Givens Hatch, Lieper Hatch and Roundhead.
