GO GO GO GAGA

GO GO GO GAGA

Except for her song that goes like “Popopokeh, popopokeh pays”, I never really like Lady Gaga.

That fact changed overnight after the fashion-trending singer-composer wore a dress made of raw meat during the MTV Video Music Awards last September 12 (13th in the Manila) in Los Angeles, California.

Hahahahahahahahaha…I was so happy. Why? Because it’s like a cold slap in the face of the PETA people who for years have made use of women wearing just lettuce or vegetables just to drumbeat their vegetarianism campaign, masked as animal rights cause.

PETA who got a dose of their own medicine of course was stirred like bees on their hive, as they were silently insulted in international television came up with this statement :

Last night, Lady Gaga tried once again to shock the world, this time by wearing a "meat dress" during her acceptance of the Video of the Year award at MTV's Video Music Awards. Lately, Lady Gaga has been having a hard time keeping her act "over the top." Wearing a dress made out of cuts of dead cows is offensive enough to bring comment, but someone should whisper in her ear that there are more people who are upset by butchery than who are impressed by it—and that means a lot of young people will not be buying her records if she keeps this stuff up. On the other hand, maybe it was fake and she'll talk about that later. If not, what's next: the family cat made into a hat? Meat is the decomposing flesh of a tormented animal who didn't want to die, and after a few hours under the TV lights, it would smell like the rotting flesh it is and likely be crawling in maggots—not too attractive, really. The stunt is bringing lots of people to PETA.org to download a copy of our vegetarian/vegan starter kit, so I guess we should be glad.
A wonderful side note to mention, Ellen DeGeneres (who is vegan herself), presented Gaga with a veggie bikini and suggested she try that next time she wants to make a statement.

Lady Gaga first raised eyebrows when she donned a meat bikini on the cover of the September issue of Japanese Vogue Magazine. Then days later, came the meat dress designed by Los Angeles-based Argentinian designer Franc Fernandez.

During an interview in the Ellen Degeneres's talk show, Gaga said, “If we don't stand up for our rights soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And I am not a piece of meat”.
So, PETA what’s your answer to that?

We from Bantay-Sabong may have something in store next, a dress made of dressed chickens.

CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER

There are a number of friends and acquaintances to who congratulations are in order.

First is PNoy’s cousin and Thunderbird Winning Team member Pao Malvar – grandson of respected veteran cocker-breeder Esting Teopaco of the Stinger fame. Peping Cojuangco is his granduncle. A back-to-cak Heritage Cup Bullstag Derby champion, Pao returned to active competition with a bang by capturing in solo fashion the top honor on the Gerry Ramos derby held at the Las Piñas Coliseum last September 2.

This was followed by Thunderbird Bexan XP-warriors Joey Hidalgo and Ronald Barandino who shared the championship of the 2010 Stagfest 5-Stag Derby.

Then, just last September 17, Thunderbird endorser Bebot Monsanto of Cebu during the Manny Pacquiao P110,000-entry fee one-day 6-Stag Derby at Pasay Cockpit.

Congratulations….

BIGTIME DERBY AT ROLIGON

It will be a ‘war of the big boys’ come Tuesday and Thursday next at Roligon Mega Cockpit when the 1st Pichay Cup 7-Stag Derby gets going.
