As expected, the 2012 Thunderbird Dakak Challenge 4-Cock All-Star Derby showed the hundreds of aficionados in attendance at the Gallera de Dapitan last Friday, June 8  and the thousands of sabong enthusiasts all over the world, who watch the event live via thunderbird.com.ph, the most intense and competitive battle of the finest fightingcocks that they have ever witnessed fielded by the elite members of   the Thunderbird Sabongnation.

Bernie Tacoy’s Ormoc Golden Warriors entry was the first to seal the victory in Fight #43 via an amazing lightning blitz against living legend Rafael “Nene” Abello which was done in 14 seconds flat. Tacoy unleashed four golden blue (gold abuhin) roosters , which each one receiving applause from the crowd for their superb performance.

World Slasher Cup titlist Pol Estrellado of San Pablo City and back-to-back Bullang-bullang champion Tol Mariano of Tupi, South Cotabato face-off in the last fight of the day with 3 wins apiece.  More than who will win the match, the crowd was more focused on whether the 14-second winning time posted by Tacoy will be broken. Mariano prevailed in 46 seconds, thereby allowing Tacoy to bring home the special trophy designed and crafted by artist Zandro Castrillo.

Settling for runner-up honors with three points apiece are newly-crowned Bullang-bullang champ Gov. Baham Mitra, Thunderbird Palawan Challenge winner Joey Sy & Pros Antonio, Tan Brothers of Davao, Pol Estrellado, PFGB President Wilson Ong of Dimaguete and Bakbakan 10-pointer Bebot Monsanto of Cebu
