THUNDERBIRD-USER WINS 2011 CANDELARIA DERBY CROWN

THUNDERBIRD-USER WINS 2011 CANDELARIA DERBY CROWN

Pakit Causing – a longtime user of Thunderbird products and godfather of Thunderbird’s Gamefowl Specialist for Panay Island Dr. Merlita Justalero, posted the highest score of 6.5 points, of a possible seven, to bag this year’s championship of the prestigious annual Candelaria 7-Cock International Derby held from January 29 – February 2 at the Ilolilo Coliseum.

Duplicating Causing’s feat is returning Candelaria winner Johnny Jalandoni of Negros with his Pangga entry, in partnership with Lando Layson and B. Jucaban.

A native of Alimodian town (30 minutes from Iloilo City), Causing recently founded and is  now the President of the Alimodian Cockers & Breeders Association. His winning entry PBC Emerald had 3.5 points going into the finals where they hurdled all their three tough assignments to corner the top honors.

It was a sorry loss for Eddie Boy Ledesma (Fire & Ice Game Farm) on his 6th fight whose entry Nirvana JSY fielding an all-Hulsey line-up closed with 6 points for runner-up honors.
Also scoring 6 points apiece are the entries Rafael, JJJ Tres Bastos and Pol Dominguez’s Goldquest financed by Osang dela Cruz.

Thunderbird Power Feeds and Thunderbird Power Vet went all out with celebrity vet Dr. Hanzie Dal of the popular segment Inilog in the gamefowl telemagazine show Tukaan on hand to interview some of the finalists and the new Candelaria champion.

The annual world cocking event is hosted by the Iloilo Sportsmen’s Association represented by Mr. Chito Tinsay, and co-presented by Thunderbird.

Thunderbird’s 25-foot inflatable model of a rooster placed at the Coliseum’s entrance greeted the aficionados who enjoyed the games and the free photo booth wherein they had their souvenir pictures with the friendly Thunderbird Power Models.

Iloilo Coliseum’s officers include Chairman of the Board Atty. Claudio Jardiolin;  President & General Manager Luis M. Tinsay, Sr.; Vice President Luis C. Tinsay; Assistant Manager (Ret) Col. Rodolfo Hermosura; Corporate Secretary & Legal Counsel – Atty. Guadioso Geduspan II; Asst. Treasurer Agustin Hallares, Jr.; Board Member Joe Uy; Board Member Roman “Tomic” Quimsing.
