Thunderbird’s Tuazon & Briones Runner’s-Up in SJC Int’l Derby; Bong Pineda is Solo Champ

Thunderbird Wiining Team standouts Dr. Boy Tuazon of Pateros and newspaper executive Rey Briones shared runner-up honors (7 points) in the SJC International 8-Cock Derby held last June 1, 3, 6 & 8 at the San Juan Coliseum topped by Pampanga’s Bong Pineda who posted 7 wins and 1 draw to claim solo victory.

“I have been very successful with Thunderbird Bexan XP, my fighters are faster and more alert”, stated Dr. Tuazon who is known for his regular entry name AUT Chicka Babe. He first hit the limelight when he bagged the Luzon Gamecock Breeder of the Year title. In last month’s 2009 World Slasher Cup-2, he posted 5 wins and 1 draw out of 8 fights.

“For me, conditioning of my rooster for their fights starts upon hatching. This is why from egg to the pit, I give them feeds and vitamins from Thunderbird”, former World Slasher champion Rey Briones revealed. He has also won a big number of championships including several Cocker of the Year awards from top cockpits in Metro Manila.

Briones who hails from the province of Masbate is popularly known for his famous entry name RB Spartans. In the SJC Int’l Derby, he used the entry name Masbate Wild Hawks-I.

With Pineda in his solo championship via the Ramloid-2 entry is combined with Ramon Preza and Eddie Gonzales assisted by handler Amay Andico.
